I'm a bit younger than you from the sounds of it. But I did have a go recently at a self-drafted version of the burda ones with the pleat, using a cullote pattern from the 1970s, via the op-shop. They didn't work until I took the pleat out of them. Wotever. I'm really just commenting to say I'm amused by your post, glad I can sew coz $11500 wtf??? That would need to be some totally kick-arse gorgeous linen used in them O_O and saying thanks to Summer Flies for linking to you.Tropical Threadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10577923650038624948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4375252611624193232.post-3333960553678229542015-07-24T16:54:59.941-07:002015-07-24T16:54:59.941-07:00I remember culottes too....I liked wearing them ac...I remember culottes too....I liked wearing them actually. I think it can look smart but not for $1100 especially when you know how quickly a pair of pants is to sew up.... fitting pants may take time, but making them doesn't take much and lets face it, when you are buying off the rack (even an expensive rack) they aren't fitting them. I think the two Burda pairs are slightly different just by volume in the leg, the Donna Karan don't look wide enough.
